Task 4 - Brand Guideline
Visual Research
Before starting my design, I went to Pinterest to look for inspiration for brand guideline layouts.

Grid System
After drawing inspiration on pinterest, I kind of have a sense of inspiration on how to brand guideline design. I started off by determinig the grids for my brand guideline. I ended up choosing grid 3 as it suits my layout more. I tested it with text as well.
After determining my grids, I started off with figuring out the navigations for my book.

After receiving feedback from both Ms Lilian & Mr Vinod, I continued working on my layout for my brand guideline. I also went with the first layout for the table of content as Ms Lilian said that the use of white space is good there. I made decided to have my navigation bar on the left and make it like stickers as the style of the book I am going for is like a journal with stickers. I also worked on my cover for my brand guideline.

After receiving feedback from Ms Lilian, I worked on my cover again. I also continued on working on my layout for my brand guideline. I also start to test out my navigation bar by making it into buttons and making my visual on my book interactive.
Fig 3.6 Testing out navigation
Mr. Vinod advised me to colour coordinate my sections. Therefore, I used purple of table of contents, pink for about us, blue for logo system and orange for applications. At this stage, I was trying to figure out what is the best way to layout my applications. I also removed the white border behind my logos for my logo system section because it might confuse readers as if it is part of my logo.

As I continue to work on my layout, I also worked on the interactivity of my brand guideline. I made my table of content into hoverable buttons to go to the selected page. I also added information pop up, text rotate, image zoom in, and image change interactive elements to my brand guideline.

At this stage, I am already done with my layout. I just had to make some minor changes based on the feedback from Ms. Lilian. After that, I continued working on fixing my interactive elements on my brand guideline.

Ms Lilian

REFLECTION
Experience
Creating a brand guideline ebook for my brand, bubbles & cuddles, was a challenging yet rewarding experience. My goal was to establish a comprehensive guide that would ensure consistency and clarity in my brand's visual identity and communication. However, I encountered some struggles during the process, particularly when it came to figuring out the layout and interactive elements of the book. I had a lot of trial and errors. I also experimented with different techniques and approaches to find the right balance between functionality and visual appeal.
Observation
I observed that designing an ebook requires a different approach compared to a normal book. It is important to have clear and intuitive navigation within an ebook. This is to ensure readers could easily navigate through different sections and access the relevant information they need. I had to consider the digital nature of the medium and find ways to create an engaging and interactive experience for the readers.
Findings
I realized that it is important to have interative elements on my book. The interactive elements are there to help readers to navigate through the book and keep them engaged while reading it. Other than that, I discovered that Adobe InDesign may not be the most ideal tool for handling interactive elements. However, I try to find ways to make the best out of the available resources and find workarounds to achieve the desired interactivity.
