Part 2 - Own Double Exposure

For Project 2A part 2, we were to create our own double exposure potrait. I took a potrait of myself and opened it in Adobe Photoshop.

Fig 2.0 Potrait of myself

I selected and masked my potrait. After that, I refined the edges of my potrait.

Fig 2.1 Selected, masked and refined

I pasted my masked potrait to the correct canvas size (1080 x 1920 px). I also added a background colour.

Fig 2.2 Added background colour

I proceeded by adjusting the curve for my potrait. After that, I created a clipping mask with the image I selected for the double exposure.

I also adjusted the brightness, contrast and exposure of the potrait.

Photo Manipulation Progress

I chose to use Fig 7.4 and Fig 7.6 for my photo manipulation. Firstly, I selected and masked the mascara. I also selected and masked out the fusilli.

After that, I pasted it onto the mascara photo and repositioned the fusilli so that it looks like the brush of the mascara.

I adjusted the fusilli to match the colour of the photo. I also adjusted the exposure, brightness/contrast and levels of the photo.

Fig 7.11 Adjusted exposure, brightness/contrast and levels

Week 9
  • Sketch 1 and 5 seems pretty interesting
Week 10
  • Straighten the picture
  • Try adding a solid background

REFLECTION

Over the course of these few weeks, I have learnt even more about Adobe Photoshop. I enjoyed doing the projects as there were really fun. Especially for Project 2C, it challenged my creativity to create something new. I also improved in my photo editing skill through these projects. Overall, the projects were not as hard as I expected it to be.
