Task 3B - Type Design & Communication

1. Research

Before sketching out my design, I did some visual research.

2. Sketches

I used procreate to sketch out my sticker design.

3. Digitalization

I decided to go with sketch number 3. I digitalized my sticker using Adobe Illustrator. I downloaded a font by  from 1001 Fonts and modified it.

After getting feedback from Mr.Vinod, I made improvements to my sticker. I tried adding bumps to my sticker but it did not look as nice. So, I modified the letters even more by making it look less round.

After that, I feel that my design was a bit too simple. To make it look nicer, I added a spider web behind the words.

After finalizing my sticker design, I proceeded to colouring my sticker. I coloured the sticker red and added a black shadow behind the words.

I tried the sticker on Telegram and it was not as nice because the red was a bit too dark. So, I chose a lighter red instead.

After finishing my sticker design, I used the sticker bot to create my sticker in Telegram.

I made adjustments after getting feedback from Mr.Vinod and rounded the corners of the spider web to make it fit the letters more.

FEEDBACK

Week 11

General Feedback:

Specific Feedback: Sketch number 3 seems pretty interesting. Let's go with that.

Week 12

General Feedback:

Specific Feedback: Quite cool. Size needs to be increased. Try making the words a little bumpy. Good job on the logo part.

Week 13

General Feedback:

Specific Feedback: Spider web a bit too sharp. Does not really fit the style of the letters. Would be nice if you add stretching highlights in the letters.

REFLECTION

Experience
It was a nice experience being able to design a sticker. I did not struggle as much and I had fun designing my sticker.

Observations
I am not very good at colouring the sticker design. I had a hard time trying to figure out how to colour the sticker to make it look nicer but in the end I just stuck to just adding a black shadow behind the letters.

Findings
Creating a sticker on Telegram is not as hard. It is pretty simple and the instructions were really straight forward.
