Final Project

Before starting my final project, I did some research and found some visual references on how I should do my final project which is creating a stop motion video.

After that I came up with an idea for my stop motion video. I started storyboarding and creating a proposal to show Mr. Martin.

Upon getting approval from Mr. Martin, I started prepping for my stop motion video. I drew fishes and plastic waste on paper and cut it out to use in my stop motion video. I also cut out waves using blue coloured paper.

After finishing my preparation, it was time to record my stop motion video. I set up my phone using a tripod and used a stop motion app to record my stop motion video. I set up my scenes and started recording.

Fig 1.9 First stop motion draft

The first draft was okay but it could be better. It is also a little too short. Therefore, I had to reshoot my stop motion.

The reshoot went well and I proceeded to edit my stop motion video. I added ambient sounds and sound effects to my stop motion video.

I used keyframes to create a smooth transition from one sound to another.

After getting feedback from Mr. Martin, I improved my video by including more sound effects to my stop motion video.

REFLECTION

The final project was really time consuming. The most time consuming part was recording the stop motion as there were many shoots to take. Preparing the materials was also very time consuming but it was not as bad. Overall, I really enjoyed completing the final project. It is a pain but it is also fun at the same time. I get to experience creating a stop motion video.
