Project 2

For this project, it was a collaboration project between the Design School and School of Biosciences. We were to design a packaging design for their product. I was paired with Group 3 from the School of Biosciences. Their product was jackfruit seed wedges. We had a meeting with them to find out more about their product.

After getting to know more about their product, I started brainstorming for design packaging ideas. I went to pinterest to find some inspiration as well.

I began by sketching out some ideas and deciding the colour palette for my design. I decided to go for yellow and orange for my colour palette cause jackfruit and wedges are usually those colours.

After that, I began to design my packaging design on Adobe Illustrator.

I got feedback from Mr. Shamsul and he said I should go for the 5th and 6th design and present it to the School of Biosciences. So, I made them into mockups. I also made presentation slides to present my design to them.

After presenting it to them, they preferred Design 1. I made adjustments to the design by using their actual food product pictures. They sent us a lot of pictures but it wasn't ideal for my packaging design. So, I went to did a little edit on Adobe Photoshop.

I edited my design for Design 1 after photoshopping the picture to suit my design. I made Planograms for my design as well.

REFLECTION

It was nice that we get to collaborate with the School of Biosciences for this project. It was a nice experience as I get to know more friends. The students from the School of Biosciences were friendly and very helpful in providing information that we need for our packaging. I hope in the future we get more collaborations like these as well.
